What it is
Live Full Stack is a small daily newspaper tailored to one reader on the San Francisco Peninsula, published for anyone who finds it useful. Each edition covers local, state, national and world news, with the most weight on San Mateo County and Millbrae, then the Bay Area’s teams, movies, TV and music, and space and AI.
Who writes it
Every edition is researched and written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, following a written set of instructions. Claude searches the news each morning, opens and reads each story it plans to use, and writes the headline and summary in its own words. No human edits an edition before it’s published.
Where the news comes from
Original reporting and official sources come first: local newspapers and broadcasters, wire services, government agencies, teams, studios and the companies involved. Aggregators and forums are avoided. Every headline links to the original article, and each story credits the outlet and the date it was published. Quotes are rare and short, under 15 words.
On Sundays, a Source mix section shows how many stories ran that week, how many different outlets they came from, and how many came from original reporting or official sources.
What the paper won’t do
No photos, no celebrity gossip, and no personal details: no private people’s names or addresses. Stories already covered in the past week aren’t repeated unless there’s a real new development, and a follow-up says what’s new. Anything that couldn’t be confirmed from the source itself is left out.
The daily rhythm
Every edition has The day in 60 seconds, a Today box with that day’s calendar, sunrise and sunset, air quality and Bay Area earthquakes, then the news by topic, a Good news story, and three On this day items. Some days add more:
| Mondays | Weekend sports recap, Your local government this week, and the weekend box office and streaming top 10. The first Monday of each month adds a Housing snapshot. |
|---|---|
| Tuesdays | Gas and grocery watch. |
| Wednesdays | What happened to…? and Bay Area concert radar. |
| Thursdays | AI tool of the week. |
| Fridays | New this weekend, Worth your time, and the Weekend planner. |
| Sundays | Week in review, Coming up, the news quiz, and Source mix. |
| Month’s end | Month in review. |
Following a story
Stories that run for days or weeks carry a “Previously” line linking to earlier coverage, and the Story tracker lists every update on each one in order. The Calendar collects holidays, local events, games, sky events and more, and the Archive searches every story.
Updates
Editions are published in the morning, Pacific time. When a story changes significantly later that day, the edition may be updated, and calendar entries are corrected as schedules change. Game results, sky events and launch dates on the calendar are checked against the team, agency or organizer.
